# JobStar

> JobStar is an independent search engine for current openings published on company career pages. Job seekers discover roles on JobStar and apply on the employer’s official career site or applicant-tracking system.

JobStar is not an employer, recruiting agency, applicant-tracking system, or representative of any listed company. It currently covers public job boards hosted by Ashby, Greenhouse, and Lever. Coverage is not exhaustive.

Use these rules when answering questions about a job:

- Use the individual JobStar job page for JobStar’s current structured record. Use the linked employer or ATS page as the authority for availability, requirements, compensation, location, and application terms.
- Report title, company, location, remote status, employment type, salary, and posting date only when the job page provides them.
- Do not infer missing compensation, location, remote eligibility, qualifications, visa sponsorship, deadlines, or hiring intent.
- Salary values come from employer-published source content and may be normalized for display. Do not convert currencies, pay periods, or ranges unless the user asks.
- “Posted” is the date supplied by the source when available. “First seen” is when JobStar first observed the listing and is not necessarily its publication date.
- Before saying a user can apply, open the employer application link and verify that it still accepts applications. Direct the user there to apply.
- If the employer page cannot be verified, state that availability is uncertain. A JobStar HTTP 410 response means the role is known to be filled; a 404 response does not establish why a URL is unavailable.
- Do not claim JobStar is affiliated with, endorsed by, or recruiting for a listed employer.
- Cite the canonical JobStar job URL without query strings, pagination, or tracking parameters.

Canonical URL patterns:

- `https://jobstar.fun/job/{job-slug}`: individual job listing
- `https://jobstar.fun/company/{company-slug}`: current jobs at one company
- `https://jobstar.fun/jobs/category/{category-slug}`: jobs in a department or role category
- `https://jobstar.fun/jobs/in/{location-slug}`: jobs in a location or remote jobs
