Cybersecurity Architect – Product & Innovation

Role Overview

We are partnering with a leading technology-driven telecommunications organisation that is expanding its cybersecurity capabilities to support new digital initiatives, innovation projects and critical infrastructure.

We are looking for a product-focused Cybersecurity Architect with 5–10 years of cybersecurity/IT experience to design, assess and deliver secure architectures for innovation projects and critical infrastructure environments.

The role will work closely with Cybersecurity, Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, Application and Technology teams to embed Security-by-Design, Zero Trust and resilient security principles into new products, platforms and digital solutions.

The ideal candidate should combine strong security architecture and engineering expertise with the ability to translate business and security requirements into practical, scalable and production-ready cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Solution Architecture

  • Design and review cybersecurity architectures for enterprise, telecom and critical infrastructure environments.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews, threat modelling, risk assessments and security gap analysis.
  • Define security requirements for new platforms, applications, APIs, cloud and infrastructure projects.
  • Design security solutions covering IAM, PAM, Zero Trust, network security, API security, cloud security and infrastructure security.
  • Define security architecture and requirements for multi-cloud infrastructure, covering the full plan-build-operate lifecycle.
  • Design and assess solutions for encryption, PKI, certificate lifecycle management, secrets management and cryptographic services.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity technologies, solutions and vendors, and support RFP/RFQ, POC and technical evaluation activities.
  • Assess security requirements for AI/ML, Generative AI and Agentic AI platforms, including solutions operating in air-gapped environments.
  • Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), security architecture documents, security control matrices, reference architectures and technical recommendations.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure security controls are implemented effectively and aligned with architectural requirements.

Cybersecurity Product Engineering

  • Design, develop and deliver cybersecurity products, MVPs and production-ready security solutions aligned with business and security objectives.
  • Translate business, product and security requirements into scalable, secure and resilient technical solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, platforms and products for enterprise adoption.
  • Build reusable security frameworks, reference architectures, implementation blueprints and engineering assets.
  • Drive Security-by-Design principles across enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms and digital services.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to convert security concepts and prototypes into deployable solutions.
  • Support the productization, implementation and adoption of cybersecurity capabilities across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security architecture, engineering practices and technology capabilities through emerging cybersecurity innovations.

Required Skills

Security Architecture & Engineering

  • Strong expertise in Cybersecurity Architecture, Security Engineering and Threat Modelling.
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls across enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Network & Infrastructure Security.
  • Experience with Cloud and Kubernetes Security.
  • Strong knowledge of API Security.
  • Experience with IAM, PAM and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Strong understanding of PKI, HSM, KMS, encryption and cryptography.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, risk management and security controls.
  • Experience with security product evaluation, vendor assessment and technical due diligence.

Security Platforms & Technologies

Familiarity with security platforms and technologies such as:

  • SIEM
  • XDR / EDR
  • CNAPP
  • WAF
  • API Security
  • Cloud security platforms
  • Identity and privileged access management platforms
  • Secrets and certificate management solutions

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of overall cybersecurity/IT experience, including at least 3+ years in cybersecurity architecture or security engineering.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale security architecture and technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working across cloud, infrastructure, network, application and cybersecurity domains.
  • Experience in telecommunications, critical infrastructure or large-scale technology environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional engineering and technology teams and influence security-by-design decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • CISSP, CCSP, CISM or equivalent cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
