Overview:

This role is generally responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in a vascular medical office. The Surgical Technologist will collaborate with clinical leadership in the performance of the clinical and patient care aspects of his/her duties, and will always act within scope of practice under the authority of attending surgeon and nursing and radiologic technologist staff.

This role will report to the Office Manager for operational matters and to clinical leadership for clinical matters.

This role is non-exempt.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in procedure rooms
    • Assembling surgical packs, supplies and instruments for cases
    • Preparing procedure rooms for cases
    • Maintaining a sterile field
    • Assisting with inventory for procedure rooms
    • Provide technical assistance to physicians and nurses
  • Assists as needed with daily operations of the clinic and office-based lab, including
    • Maintaining patient medical information, including medical history and health insurance
    • Maintaining orders and stocks supplies
    • Cleaning and sterilization of equipment
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians and other clinical staff as needed
  • Maintains HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintain compliance databases

Requirements:

  • Surgical technologist certification or within 6 months of graduation from accredited program
  • BLS certification
  • 1+ year experience in a medical setting, ideally surgical
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely

Compensation

$29/hour - $37/hour. Negotiable based on skills and experience
