About the Role
This is a one-person US outpost role for an early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure company, reporting directly to the founding team. You'll own the entire San Francisco community and GTM presence from the ground up — hosting events, building relationships, and turning authentic technical evangelism into a measurable pipeline. It's a high-ownership, high-visibility role at the intersection of community, developer relations, and growth.
What You'll Do
- Launch and run a recurring SF meetup series targeting the ML infrastructure community, growing it from zero into a must-attend event.
- Represent the company at AI/ML meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Bay Area, building a visible personal brand and network.
- Act as the community connector — the person who knows everyone and turns relationships into momentum.
- Evangelize through talks, blog posts, social content, and demo videos grounded in real community conversations.
- Demo a Python-based open-source framework live to technical audiences and hold your own with ML engineers on real questions.
- Instrument community and product signals (CRM, enrichment tools, product analytics, GitHub) into automated workflows for enrichment, scoring, and follow-up.
- Feed Valley market intelligence — what people are building, what frustrates them, who's evaluating what — directly back into product and GTM strategy.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM, with a track record of hosting events and converting engagement into measurable outcomes.
- Technically fluent enough to demo a Python framework live, read code, work with APIs, and communicate credibly with ML engineers — engineering experience is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience building developer communities or running technical events from scratch.
- Proficiency with modern GTM tooling: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (e.g. Clay), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.
- Experience measuring community initiatives using product analytics (e.g. Mixpanel), GitHub signals, and CRM data.
- Demonstrated ability to create technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social) that resonates with developer audiences.
- A knack for converting one-off manual efforts into repeatable, scalable systems.
- Self-directed and comfortable running a solo operation with founders as close strategic partners.
- Background at early-stage or scrappy environments rather than large enterprises.
- Nice to have: existing network in the SF AI/ML/infra scene; experience with PLG or usage-based GTM motions; familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure; open-source community experience; visible public speaking presence.
