We're looking for a Silicon Engineering Manager to lead and grow a multidisciplinary SoC engineering organization, driving both people development and execution excellence across complex silicon programs. You will work closely with architects, technical leads, and program managers to ensure successful delivery from concept through tape-out and bring-up, while building a high-performance engineering culture focused on technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- People management of SoC engineering teams across disciplines including hiring, onboarding, performance management and career development.
- Coach and develop engineers at all levels — from early-career contributors to senior technical leads.
- Resource planning and allocation across SoC programs, balancing project demands with team capacity, skills development, and individual growth.
- Partner with SoC Architects, Project Managers, and discipline leads to ensure execution health, unblock the team, and drive delivery from concept through tape-out and bring-up.
- Foster a strong engineering culture — technical excellence, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive cross-organization special assignments such as methodology improvements, IP evaluations, sourcing and procurement, and other team and leadership initiatives as needed.
- Support cross-functional collaboration.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in SoC or semiconductor engineering, with several years in a people management role leading engineering teams.
- Experience in building, growing, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong people skills — coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and career development.
- Experience managing across multiple disciplines or cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of the full SoC development lifecycle and the typical risks and dependencies at each stage.
- Solid technical foundation in SoC development — enough to understand the work, support technical decisions, and earn the trust of the engineers you lead.
- Excellent communication skills — able to operate fluently with both engineers and leadership.
- Experience in working with suppliers and partners.
Nice to have:
- Experience scaling teams in a startup or fast-growing environment.
- Background in wireless or mixed-signal SoCs.
- Experience managing distributed or multi-site teams.
- Experience working with external IP vendors, foundries, or subcontractors.
- Experience in sourcing and procurement.
